A myriad number of influences shape who and what we are. Sure, you can gather relevant work experience from a resume, but, if you are considering adding someone to your team, is it not nice to know a bit more about them as person? These are things which shape me as a person and employee. Naturally, they also effect my writing style. Here is a brief bio, told in 3rd person for your convenience, though I find it a bit awkward as I read it back to myself.

The story thus far:

Christopher was born in Louisville, Kentucky and spent most of his life in the area. A city with northern sensibilities and southern manners, it has provided a unique mix of American cultures with which to interact. A few years of his life were spent in the tiny town of Grafenberg, which was serviced by one small general store.

One of eight children, the importance of family and friends was instilled very early in his life. This naturally included learning how to get along well with others. Never at a loss for playmates; his time was spent building forts, exploring the surrounding woods, and gathering the neighborhood kids together for whatever game the group was up for playing.

Attending a private school from middle to high school, he was one of only two graduates in his 1997 class. He is happy to report that the school, which was just getting started then, now graduates about 40 students a year. It was at this time that he began trying to push beyond his introverted nature with encouragement from his teachers and the school's headmaster.

Freed-Hardeman University provided another small-town environment for Christopher. The university consisted of a close-knit community while still managing to introduce him to an interesting spectrum of ideas and cultures. He was able to spend a summer in Europe at the school's Belgium campus and participate as a member and elected officer in several student clubs. It was at this time that he set aside his desire to pursue an engineering degree. He found his classes in public speaking and communications to be a more interesting challenge.

He has followed an unconventional career path with a position answering phones at Humana and selling computers for Dell. He felt he was heading down the right direction with his work at LeapFrog Interactive where he began to get a better taste for writing. An unexpected career change saw him working as a guest service manager for Target. Still, it provided valuable experience learning how to interact with people, customers, and team members, from all walks of life.

Stepping back into a marketing role for The Learning House, Christopher has come to realize that it is in writing that he finds himself at his most fulfilled and productive. It has been the most satisfying aspect of any position he has currently held and is why he is now pursuing a career as a professional copywriter.

A self-professed geek, Christopher has long enjoyed stories and movies of fantasy and science-fiction. Influenced by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert Jordan, he is currently working on a book series of his own. He enjoys gazing at pictures of the vast wonders in the Milky Way or directly into the night sky, traveling whenever he can, reading, listening to his unique mix of music, video games, self-improvement, good conversation, and the endless varieties of chocolate.

Enamored with the possibilities and options in life, he feels that the best is yet to come and definitely plans to write about it as it does.
